This week I got to tour the unique and lovely wedding venue, The Bradford! This venue is located in New Hill, NC, just a few miles south of Apex.
There are two reasons I loved my tour at The Bradford. The first- I was greeted with the biggest smile and hug from Event Director, Maggie Hendrickson. That southern hospitality goes a long way! The second- there are a variety of places to have your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Most venues only have one or two choices for these. But The Bradford offers enough options so that you can make your day exactly what you’ve dreamed of!
The two owners, Dana and Courtney, were long time wedding planners before opening The Bradford. They currently operate C&D Events, and have for several years with the dream of opening a wedding venue. But before they did, they wanted to know the in’s and out’s of what goes into a wedding day. When they finally decided to pursue their dream of owning a wedding venue, they knew exactly what they wanted to make of it. The two started building The Bradford in 2013, and had their first event in 2014!
Any of the downstairs rooms can be used for cocktail hour if you like the idea of having something indoors during that time.
The Bridal Suite has gorgeous natural lighting and mirrors for getting ready. It also has a romantic, fun aesthetic for a girl’s hang out spot before the ceremony.
The Grooms Suite is separate from the main house, upstairs from the ballroom. This is a groom’s suite I’ve never seen before! They really had the guys in mind when dreaming this up! Inside you’ll find a ping pong table, poker table, and more!
If an indoor ceremony is more your style, you can try one of their Ballrooms! Their current ballroom holds about 100 people and their new ballroom (coming 2020!) will hold over 200! I have seen photos of what this space will be, and trust me, it will be amazing!!
Lastly, the additional rooms upstairs can sleep about 12 people comfortably. The Bradford offers overnight stays! This can be used for the bride and groom the night of the wedding, or a bridal sleep over the night before the wedding! Another perk? Maggie will make sure you have breakfast prepared the next morning! This is just another way the staff at The Bradford goes above and beyond!
These rooms are to the left and to the right after walking in the front door. They can be used for indoor cocktail hour spaces if you wish!

Also in the Bridal Suite. These couches actually pull out to provide more sleeping spaces if necessary.
All the spaces below can be used for either ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception to make your day custom to your needs!
The Side Garden is the most popular choice for ceremony spaces. It can seat up to 160-200 people, and also has a pergola backdrop set up for you to decorate. After seeing how the lighting gets in this space, I’m thinking this may be my favorite!
If you have a larger wedding, the Front Garden is another great choice for a ceremony space! This space can seat over 200 people if necessary. You can use the doors as your backdrop, or bring in your own arbor. It’s important to note that this space offers the most sunlight so if you’re getting married in the summer, it may be smart to provide fans or umbrellas for your guests!
The Back Field is becoming increasingly popular for the nature-loving couples. This space can also fit over 200 people, and you get some shade from the treeline! Just be sure to consider bringing an arbor or other backdrop if you choose this space.
Lastly is the Terrace. This space is on the backside of the house and can fit about 200 people. Although mostly used for cocktail hours or reception, it is also a unique option for a ceremony!

WHAT MAKES THE BRADFORD DIFFERENT?
The main reason The Bradford is different from many other venues is that Courtney and Dana built The Bradford with the goal of having a dream wedding space in mind. Unlike many venues in the area that are purchased and renovated historic homes, The Bradford was built for the sole purpose of being a wedding venue! As a wedding photographer, I can honestly tell you this makes a HUGE difference! The lighting is beautiful in every room, the layout flows perfectly, and there are many different areas to choose from for each part of your day.
Also, if you haven’t caught it yet, the owners are wedding planners themselves! When you book at The Bradford, you will undoubtedly receive expert advice for your wedding day from the staff.
Although the owners are wedding planners, it is not required that you choose them to plan your wedding day. In fact, they choose to promote other planners as well so that you can be confident that your day is uniquely yours!
